SellerCrowd

SellerCrowd is an 'underground' marketplace for media & technology sellers to anonymously connect since 2003. Milkshake helped reimagine their platform which included heavy product strategy, user experience design, and visual design.

Creating a tool from a forum

When SellerCrowd first reached out to our to team it was running as a glorified forum. It had a strong set of base users who chatted back and forth to get the information they needed. The platform admins had a heavy hand in keeping the information up to date, and relevant. We worked with the SC team to create the 2.0 vision. A community-powered platform that promoted engagement, tips, and real information.

More information at your fingertips to make better decisions

One of the hardest challenges of this project was creating a way for the users to be engaged in conversation while allowing them to dive into a single piece of information. Our solution was to create a dashboard that was tailored to your interests. This allowed the users to engage with the community around their expertise or field and stay informed on the latest the platform had to offer.

While getting the users to engage on topics was key, we also wanted to ensure they were correctly informed. By creating a dynamic side panel we gave them the ability to view information on companies, people, industries, and topics without ever leaving the dashboard page.

Customized to your needs

Every dashboard is customizable so the user only sees the information that is pertinent to them. They can choose topics, companies, industries, and more.

The many faces of anonymity

As we mentioned SellerCrowd is anonymous, but we really wanted to give it a more humanistic feel. To do this we created a plethora of illustrations that each user could select to give themselves a bit of personality. Shout out to Matthew LeGrice for the illustration help.

Growing the community that powers the platform

It's great to have user-generated content, but without your users, you can't do much. With the product portion coming to an end we helped SellerCrowd connect with real people by designing their marketing materials. First and foremost, the website. Taking from the branding and illustrations we crafted a refined message that reached their audience and simplified their pitch.

Ghost Robot

Ghost Robot is a Brooklyn-Based Creative Content Studio. They got their start making music videos back when they were still a thing, and have transformed into a premier studio that creates feature films, branded content, and AR/VR experiences. We helped them create a whacky and recognizable identity, and a content-first digital platform to showcase their eclectic work.
